These large paintings create open ended narratives where power and vulnerability intertwine.
Within the notion of landscape I can develop semi abstract pictorial spaces where imagery of trees, dogs, helicopters or drones can be identified. Real life hierarchies of gravity, proportion and size don't apply in the paintings. Dogs sometimes move through tree tops, helicopters hang in the air like whales, ships might encounter oversize burrowing marsh dwellers.

These paintings are oil on canvas. I use brushes, palette knives and squeegees in order to allow the complexities beneath 'either' and 'or' to take shape. The large format makes me think of the painting’s pictorial space as a big stage for nuances to dance.
