These paintings were made during the Covid shutdowns. My husband Joel and I spent a lot of time hiking with our two dogs in the forest and lake areas around the Washington DC metro area.
I was trying to create a visual dialogue between the water birds' feet and roots of trees.
How do you stand? How do you move through the world? became questions that have continued to inspire my paintings since.
